Cabinet signs, often referred to as box signs, are one of the most widely used forms of commercial exterior signage. They consist of a framed sign cabinet with a graphic face that can be illuminated from within, making them highly visible during both daytime and nighttime hours.
Cabinet signs are commonly found on retail storefronts, shopping centers, restaurants, gas stations, and commercial properties where clear visibility and durable branding are important.
What's cabinet signage?
A cabinet sign is a self-contained sign structure consisting of an enclosed frame, internal lighting system, and a graphic face displaying a business name, logo, or message.
Unlike channel letters, which are built as individual letters, cabinet signs use a single enclosed cabinet that contains all lighting and electrical components behind one continuous sign face.
Cabinet signs can be mounted directly to a building, incorporated into monument signs, or installed on poles and pylons for increased visibility.
Types of cabinet signage:
1. Illuminated Cabinet Signs
The most common type of cabinet sign, featuring internal LED lighting that shines through the sign face.
2. Non-Illuminated Cabinet Signs
Cabinet structures without internal lighting.
3. Single-Face Cabinet Signs
Graphics are displayed on one side of the cabinet.
4. Double-Face Cabinet Signs
Graphics are displayed on both sides of the cabinet.
