Channel Letters
Channel letters are one of the most common types of exterior business signage used for storefronts, retail centers, restaurants, and commercial buildings. They consist of individually fabricated letters or logos, typically mounted directly to a building façade or raceway system, and are often internally illuminated for nighttime visibility.
What are channel letters?
Channel letters are three-dimensional, individually built letters or shapes used to display a business name or logo on a building exterior.
Each letter is constructed as its own structure, typically using aluminum returns (sides), an acrylic face, and internal LED lighting (in illuminated versions).
They are mounted individually to a wall or attached to a shared backing system called a raceway.
Types of channel letters:
1. Front-Lit Channel Letters
Light is emitted through the acrylic face of each letter.
2. Halo-Lit (Reverse) Channel Letters
Letters are mounted slightly off the wall, and light glows from behind, creating a halo effect.
3. Combination-Lit Channel Letters
Light emits from both the face and the back of the letter.
4. Non-Illuminated Channel Letters
Solid dimensional letters without internal lighting.
